OUR KING

‘מלך’, ‘king’, in לשון הקודש refers not to one who rules with power alone, but to one who rules with power and wisdom; מלך, from the Aramaic word מלכא (council). Hashem is the true King, He Who rules with ultimate Power and Wisdom. But Hashem is not just any King – Hashem is ‘our King’ (Yeshaya 44:6), for all of His Power and Wisdom are especially directed to manage our affairs alone.
